My favorite scripture about prayer is the one that has taught me the most about how to pray and what to pray for. http://scriptures.lds.org/en/james/4/3#3
"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."
If we can pray until we figure out one thing that is not amiss, or in other words, pray about one thing that is in tune with the mind and will of God for us, that prayer will be answered. I have a hard time focusing on what I'm saying, so it is hard for me, but possible. How many times have I been praying, then found my mind wandering to something else unaware. Praying vocally helps, if you have the space. Your blog was auto linked to one of mine this morning. I'll visit again soon.

Thank you. I participated the the study of James a couple of months back with a church I am attending. Sometimes I can relate to Apostle Paul, and James, and I do have a realtionship with our Lord Jesus. Your Manuscript to Prayer is so very true. Our prayers are not always answered in the time we feel and in our physical world need them, but staying faithful like a child, continuing to believe, trust, and always working at relationship with Jesus we are offered the gift of hope. While I am working and blogging away, building relationships, expossing my need to be successful for my sellers needs which are very important to me, I promised to bring value and successful closesed escrow transactions to each property I was hired to market, sell, and bring success to their sale...It is still a work in progress and I pray the the Lord to hear my prayers for my sellers to be blessed by our Lord and allow open escrows soon. They have great needs each of them and we have tried for several months, extended the listing, reduced the price and all are a tremendous value and will become a wonderful blessing to the right buyer when they come along. I pray for them to come along timely, we have been so patienct and I have worked hard, smart, adn included Go's participation...yet still praying, still working, still hopeful, and don't want to fail my sellers. I have responsibility to them to bring success to their transaction and in our market and my Humboldt county location, I feel like i am working on an Island. I have reached out universally and in prayer. Changed my strategy, and networking face to face and online socially with professional social sites like Linked In and that is how I came across your blog about prayer. I have had such epierences...Your in/ and quickly your out! I pray with my whole heart, and theiologian church leaders and a some friends, and family base results of no income or little income on maybe God is punishing you...just like your message. they worked hard at redirecting me to take other what they call real jobs...finally to relocate and it was not my will nor my plan, but did to please a few. Now I am in a market that has not made the sheft in the real estate cycle that my former Bay Area has..when I had to leave it was sluggish and we began to see shortsales, I had one...took me six months ...but I was succesful and earned a referral...yet my pastor told me I did not have skill and they were not only discouraging but very disheartening in their actions, reccomendations, and demands...They measured me by how much money I was making in that 12-17 months. Now I am here and became productive right away...but while Bay Area has made there shift and there is not enough inventory for all their buyers, my colleagues are working very hard, but their sellers homes are selling. My Humboldt County inventory has been marketed for several months, it is not about price as it is about less population, a very tight professional real estate culture as we are many small towns in our beautiful rural north coast country of Humbolt, and real estate is still sluggish. the homes that are moving are those for entry level families mostly...below $200,000 and up to $275. My sellers properties are in a higher value category and take longer to sell, less buyers for their price range. And of course, they are unique for their own amenities...and like all properties...will attract just one right buyer. My income here has been only unemployemtn and my costs to promote my sellers properties are great. Social networking and face to face are my focus and alot of prayer. Passsionate Commitment for what I do for the Glorey of my God and to bring blessing to my sellers and those that god allows in my daily path and especially my family and most of all my Daughter. If I am measured by what I earn, wow..I am sure greatful God has me in his heart, and in his plans. People are just people, but God, he is ominous and he is awesome! Sincerely, Saundra Allman

I 'm new in the Wordpress world of Blogging. Quite frankly I was wondering if I had come to the wrong place, or that maybe I should start seeking .Org URL's instead of .Com's to be able to read and fellowship with others who really understand the need for a relationship with the Lord our God. Funny, now that I have said that, I see the irony of how I was feeling on the Blogs before finding your post and study. Like one adrift in a sea of empty words and meaningless, mindless chatter from blog to blog. In reality,
thats what life would be ..without God...Meaningless, in retrospect, thats exactly what life before God was.
Thank You for your time and dedication to sharing Gods Word. May God continue to Bless you and your ministry.

Very good analogy of what things are truly important for us to realize and let go of in this short lived finite stay on earth.
Funny you should mention Peter though, ... I resemble the Pre- released version of Peter all too often in my daily walk,as in : The Only Time I open My Mouth is to Change Feet!!!
GOD BLESS you.

It's amazing how God will use someone to speak into a person's life to give an answer to a specific question. Prayer for me is communication with God. Having it described here as a relationship to God clears up any doubt I had about telling God everything in prayer. Prayer seems structured at times and never really relational to me,especially in our churches. I beleive that my prayer life will be different because of this study and I thank God for your ministry.
