Do we make things too difficult

Romans 1:19-20
“Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men and women are without excuse.”

Paul tells us that God does not hide anything from us. It is not hidden in a book (aka DaVinci code or The Judas Gospel), but rather spelled out for all to see. It only makes sense that if we are to be judged one day, then we must have knowledge for that which we are to be held accountable.

Okay, now to a bit of practicality. Do our crazy, hectic, and out of control lives allow us to sit long enough to see the truth that is before our faces? Do we get so wrapped up in the trees that the forest is no longer visible? I know that I do. It is for this reason we must get back to some of the basics of our Christian journey; namely listening for and to God. Solitude; a dirty word in our culture is one of the most important disciplines for the Christ follower. Times of meditation and reflection allow us to be quiet enough for God to speak truth to us.

Paul says that it is all around us. We must take care not to drown out the voice of God in favor of the voice of the world.
