Where do Evangelicals Stand: One viewpoint

The above link goes a long way in explaining some of the pitfalls of depending upon government to solve our problems. Not only is it unrealistic, but un-Scriptural. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, I do not believe it should be the church’s primary role to be involved in the political process. Does God call certain people into the process? I believe so. However, it the church’s responsibility to focus on our mission. We have the answer in Christ. We have the role model in Christ. We need to be completely focused.

In a weird way, the loss of this election by the Republicans may be exactly what Evangelicals need to get them once again focused on what matters most about our mission. Not trying to create a social ethic based on legislation, but conveying the life changing message of the gospel.
