I have updated the reading list on the right hand side of this blog. If you have read a good book lately, let me know. Now that my seminary days are over, I am constantly looking for good reads. I am in particular looking for NT historical context books, Pre-historic and Bronze Age world history, and social justice. Of course, I am not limited to these. I would love to hear from you and start compiling my next books.

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past twelve years. My wife Susan and I have three children: Madelyn, Marshall and Melisa. When we aren't attending a ballet or ballgame somewhere, you can find us...oh who am I kidding... this season of life always finds us at a ballgame (Marshall and Melisa) or a ballet (somewhat less now that Madelyn is living in Anapolis, MD.). The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
