Another day of snow and no school and Twitter thoughts

Winter in Lexington

One more day away from school.  The kids and I went sled riding up at the Beaumont Y around 11:00 this morning.  Rather than snow, we found a literal sheet of ice covering he streets and the hill.  Down the hill was fun, but up the hill was tough.  A couple of times the kids got back to the top of the hill only to slide back down on their stomachs.  Needless to say, an hour was as much fun as we could handle.  Hopefully we get a little snow tonight to sit on top of the ice.

Meanwhile, it has been a good couple of days to catch up on some sermon plans and look ahead.  I have been getting a chance to look at the Twitter application as well.  I love the ability to keep people updated via text messages to their phones verses relying on email.  Anymore, the most reliable means of catching people is on their cellphone.  I just wonder how long it would take to get a group of people up to speed with Twitter and it actually make a difference in our communication plans?  I am guessing a year at least.  In the meantime, I hope the technology doesn't change and outdate it.  You gotta love the speed of change that technology brings.
